FP7 Project Management

Eurescom offers comprehensive services for initiating and managing research projects in FP7, the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development of the European Union.

As the R&D organisation of European telecommunication network operators and service providers, Eurescom has two decades of experience in initiating and managing collaborative research projects.

Eurescom has been involved in a number of FP5, FP6, and FP7 projects in the ICT area. Our large experience covers all development stages and roles in a project, from the first idea to the exploitation of results, from project coordinator to support service provider.

Services in the preparation phase

Feasibility analysis
We check the relevance and substance of your project idea and analyse, if it is feasible under any of the EU funding programmes. This analysis will be the basis for all further steps.

Identification of the right funding programme
Based on the feasibility analysis, we identify the right funding programme for your project as well as the best suitable instrument. In Framework Programme 6, for example, this would be the choice of the appropriate strategic objective and the right instrument in the open or forthcoming Calls.

Project definition
We can help you define your project compatible to the chosen Call and strategic objective. This would also include support in structuring the project.

Consortium building
Eurescom has a large network of contacts to the major players in European ICT research, including the EU’s New Member States and the Accession Candidate Countries. Through our network you will be able to assemble suitable partners in your consortium in order to create the critical mass for achieving your project goals. We help you to find the right partners. Furthermore, we support you in negotiating a consortium agreement among the partners.

Consortium support
Eurescom provides administrative and technical support for the consortium to work efficiently. This includes the management of IPRs, non-disclosure agreements and letters of intent.

Proposal writing and submission
We offer proposal writing by Eurescom’s experienced programme managers and editors, who will make sure that all formal requirements and evaluation criteria are met and that the proposal is written in the format required by the Commission. If required, Eurescom can also handle or control the electronic proposal submission.

Proposal evaluation
Before submission, we recommend to have an independent test evaluation of your project proposal by our experienced evaluators.

Hearings and contract negotiation
When the proposal is accepted, hearings and contract negotiations pose another hurdle. We offer advice in the preparation for hearings and negotiations and can take over the writing of the technical description for the contract annex.

EuresTools FP7 Tool Package
EuresTools is a comprehensive, modular set of online tools for managing European research projects. They are based on our long project experience from Eurescom, FP5, FP6, and FP7 projects. The tools are specifically designed to the needs of FP7 projects.

Project coordination
If our effort in the proposal phase for coordinating the consortium and writing the proposal is paid, we are ready to perform the administrative project management as the project coordinator. Eurescom has coordinated projects in FP5 and FP6 and is now also coordinating projects in FP7. Our effort in the implementation phase would be usually covered by the EC funding.

Management consulting and coaching
We offer consulting and coaching on issues, which have a major impact on the efficiency of the project management. This includes the financial management, controlling procedures, and auditing preparation compliant with EU rules as well as the development of a management handbook for organising procedures and responsibilities, especially in larger projects (IPs, STREPs).

Dissemination support
Eurescom has outstanding professional skills in dissemination activities. We can support you in organising workshops, press conferences, producing streaming media presentations, and publishing brochures or other printed deliverables. Moreover, we can help you reach the target groups for your dissemination activities.
