P103 Evolution of the Intelligent Network

Rationale
The present IN architecture is not expected to remain static, i.e. future IN versions will encompass several different architectures. These and the implications for PNOs are to be studied.

Objectives
The main objectives of this project are to:

• gain an in-depth view of the services conceivable in the foreseeable future
• to study the constraints imposed by this service-driven environment on the executing IN architecture
• to develop new IN architecture models to serve these needs
• to identify an evolution path from the existing IN architectures
• to the target architecture
