Traditional network accesses including fixed and mobile telephony, leased lines and data, are heading towards saturation, but at the same time, new technology enables extended access to many kinds of new devices and objects in sensor networks. These objects include appliances, personal objects, vehicles and even living beings, and have previously not been thought of as communicating entities. What are the roles for Telcos in this market, and how can Telcos take advantage of their position as traditional network access suppliers? The results from the study will be general knowledge and strategic input on how Telcos can approach this segment.
